Our Services

at Walker & Harrison Care we understand that everyone’s circumstances, needs, and preferences are unique, which is why we believe in providing personalised care plans tailored to each individual. No two care packages are the same because no two people are the same.

At Walker and Harrison Care, we recognise that care is not one-size-fits-all. We take the time to get to know each person in order to provide the exceptional service we are known for. Whether you’re looking for specific care services or have unique needs, we are committed to finding a way to assist you.

Our comprehensive range of services is designed to meet a wide variety of needs, and we are continually expanding to ensure we can support you in the best way possible. If you do not see a specific service listed, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We will be happy to discuss your requirements, and even if we are unable to help directly, we will guide you in the right direction.

Here are some of the services we offer, with the flexibility to cater to individual requirements

Daily Care Visits
Visiting Care is different but why? It gives you the one to one support when you need it but without you having to move into a residential home or having a carer move in with you.

Visiting Care offers you the support you require when you require it; it can make all the difference to you or your loved ones lives. Daily Care visits can be from as little as one visit per week up to multiple visits per day. Your package will be tailored to your unique needs whether you simply require a welfare check and a chat or you need support with all aspects of your personal care and daily living needs. We will work with you to tailor your unique personalised person centred care plan.

We know multiple visits a day may sound daunting but continuity of care is paramount to us. You will have your own team of trained professional home care assistants so it won’t feel like a constant stream of new faces. We are able to carry out a regulated activity, which is managed and overseen by our team of senior staff and our CQC registered manager.

Companionship
We know the devastating impact social isolation can have on yours or your loved ones emotional wellbeing. We understand that you or your loved one may be able to manage all of your own personal care needs but may require some level of support to access the community. Whether it be to go shopping, attend appointments or engage in your hobbies or interests. Whatever it is, at Walker & Harrison Care we have a team of dedicated companions whose sole role is companionship. You or your loved one may feel uncomfortable or defeated having a carer to help you with these things and that is why we have chosen to keep it separate. Our companions can accompany you with or without uniform – that is your choice.

All of our companions have had the same level of training as our Home Care Assistants so if anything unexpected was to happen during your time with your companion they are well prepared to deal with it. Our companions go through the same recruitment process just like our Home Care Assistants.

We are committed to only employing people we would be comfortable to support our own loved ones. Our Companions are specifically matched with you, your interests and your needs. We require the input from you and your loved ones when making any decision regarding your matched companion.

Personal Care
Whether you require full support to meet all your personal care needs or if you just require some over sight to ensure you can meet your own needs safely we can help. Before we commence with any care a senior staff member will come and sit down with you and go through your needs assessment. This way we know in advance what you need but also what you want. From personal hygiene tasks to helping you get dressed; all of our home care assistants are fully trained and have a wealth of experience. Again, we keep continuity of care at the forefront of our planning so that you build up a good relationship with your home care assistant; we want you to feel completely at ease.
Dementia Care
We are dedicated to delivering the best possible dementia care, as part of our standard induction all of our staff go through rigorous dementia training and become dementia friends. We know how demanding it can be to support a loved one who has dementia. We understand how important it is for you to keep them at home but keep them safe so we will do everything we can to ensure that is possible for you. We have a wealth of experience supporting families through this challenging time and ensuring the best level of care is received. We are committed to upholding your dignity and respect throughout. Regardless of the level of support you need, may that be some respite, daily visits or a welfare check. We will tailor a home care package that is unique to you and your needs.
Overnight Support
If you require overnight support there are options available. We can provide a Home Care Assistant for waking night shift to oversee safety or a sleepover shift to have someone close by. We have a specifically selected team of overnight home care staff who will be on hand to help you. Whatever the reason you require the support we will work with you to ensure your goals and expectations are met. Home care is not 9-5. We understand that some people require the support for multiple reasons, simply for your peace of mind or to ensure your loved ones are safe. We will match you with our specifically selected overnight home care team members.
Domestic & Shopping Support
No matter what the level of support you require our home care assistants will work with you to ensure your home is kept clean, tidy and safe at all times. We will get to know you and the way you like things done. We hope to mimic keeping your home exactly how you would if you were more able to do so.

If you require some shopping done for you or you would like to go shopping with a member of staff we can arrange for this on a regular basis or as and when you require. Just like with the rest of our services this part of your package will be tailored to your unique needs and choices. If sometimes you feel up to going along then that’s fine, if on other occasions you don’t feel up to it that’s fine too, the home care assistant will go on your behalf.

End of life care
Everyone here at Walker & Harrison Care has personal experience in losing a loved one; we are sincere when we say we understand. Although we cannot make it better we can make it easier. We truly believe everyone has a right to live were they choose and we are passionate about instilling this in the end stages of life. We are dedicated to making the end stages of your loved ones life as comfortable as possible, in a familiar surrounding with people they love. We have a separate team of Home Care Assistants who are specifically trained in palliative and end of life care. This ensures we can provide this specialist care safely ensuring dignity and respect be upheld at all times.
Respite care
We understand that many unpaid family carers take great pride in providing support to their loved ones and work extremely hard to keep them at home, happy and safe. The physical and emotional consequence of being a family carer can often have a damaging effect on a family unit, that is why we provide our respite care service. This can be a set number of hours on a weekly basis or for a multiple weeks at a time. Regardless of whether you need a break away or just a few hours here and there it is important to take that ‘me time’ without having to worry about your loved one. We can continue to provide the level of care that you do in the comfort of your loved ones home. Respite care has been proven to significantly change the health and wellness of family carers hence why we are so passionate about it.
Overnight Visiting Care
Overnight Visiting Care. Building on the success of our daily care visits, our overnight visiting care provides the same level of exceptional support during the night. Following successful trials with our own service users, we are thrilled to offer this invaluable service to families in need. Tailored for each individual’s needs and preferences. Our overnight visiting care is particularly beneficial for families requiring assistance with personal care. We understand the desire for families to stay close, especially during the end stages of life, our service steps in to provide the necessary hands-on care when needed so that families can have the privacy to spend time with their loved ones between care interventions. We also support your existing carers who may need additional assistance during the night or for them to have a short break. Whether you seek peace of mind or regular welfare checks, our overnight visiting care is customisable to your unique needs. From brief 15-minute check-ins to more comprehensive 2-hour intervals, our bespoke care plans remain affordable and, most importantly, ensure the safety and security of your loved one in the comfort of their own home.
